About Microneedling

Microneedling is a technique used to stimulate the natural production of collagen and generate new skin tissue.  A FDA approved medical grade microneedling device, which is fitted with a sterile needle tip that moves at high speed motion (18,000 rpm), passes over the skin to create a microtrauma to the area.  The microtrauma stimulates your skin’s healing abilities to respond with the production of collagen.

It is primarily used on the face for the reduction of acne scars, sun damage, uneven skin tone, fine lines, and wrinkles.  It can also be used anywhere else on the body for scarring, stretch marks, or smoothing skin tone.

Best results are seen when completing a series of 3-6 treatments that are spaced 4 weeks apart.  Results can last several years and quarterly treatments can be used to maintain the results.

What to expect

3 days prior to treatment:

Cease using any retinol or acid based facial products or cleansers.

Avoid direct sunlight.

Inform us if you are having inflammatory skin conditions, cold sores, or widespread acne.  You may be asked to reschedule your appointment.

Day of treatment:

Wash your face with a mild cleanser before appointment and do not apply make up.  Give your schedule breathing room to head back home and chill out for the rest of the day post treatment.  You will experience redness and possibly broken skin.

Read and sign consent form contained in the confirmation email link prior to arrival.

First 24 hours after treatment:

Expect redness, dryness, and tightness.  Use the hydraulonic acid provided and aloe if needed.  Wash with water only and dry with a clean towel. No make up.  Besides applying product, DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE.  Sleep on clean pillow cases.  Keep hair away from the face.

48 hours after treatment:

Resume regular skin care regimen (minus retinol products).  If skin is not broken, makeup can be used.

You may experience dryness and flakiness 3-5 days after the procedure.  Continue your normal skincare routine until the flakiness resolves.

Keep the area clean.  Do not touch your face!  Use only freshly washed hands to apply face products.  Wear only clean (covid) face masks when out and about and keep hair away from the face.  Avoid direct sun exposure and use a mineral-based powder sunscreen.

After 7 days:

Retinol can be put back into skincare routine.
